R.W.M. Bro. Robert McCormick P.M. welcomed a deputation from lodge Prince of Wales No. 426.

The Deputation was headed by RWM Bro. Robert Ferguson.

Lodge 426 were invited along to confer an Entered Apprentice Degree, which was carried out in an exemplary manner.

The meeting was also attended by a further two reigning masters.

Jim McDowell Memorial Games Night.

The lodge hosted Airdrie Victoria LOL125 in the annual Jim McDowell memorial games night.
 

A great evening of friendly competitive competition was enjoyed by all and resulted in Lodge Airdrie St John No.166 being

crowned overall winners for the second year in a row.

The R.W.M. Bro. Robert McCormick P.M. accompanied by I.P.M. Bro. Craig Gibson P.M., Sec. Bro. James Ferguson P.M.

and D.o.C. Bro. John Lang P.M. attended a presentation ceremony in recognition of the organisations in the West of Scotland

who had taken “The 1918 Poppy Pledge” the lodge was presented with their certificate of achievement which was accepted by

D.o.C. Bro. John Lang P.M. in recognition of his drive and industry in raising the £1918

Inter Lodge Games Night.

The lodge hoisted teams from Lodge New Monkland Montrose No.88, Lodge Old Monkland St James No.177, Lodge St Clair No.427 &

Lodge Caldercruix St John No.1314 in the annual inter lodge games night.
 

A great evening of fiercely contested competition was enjoyed by all and resulted in Lodge Airdrie St John No.166 being crowned overall

winners with a clean sweep in the Darts, Dominoes and Pool.

Saturday 30th March 2019

Installation of Lodge Fleur-De-Lys No.1722

R.W.M. Bro. Robert McCormick was invited to be one of the R.W.I.M’s along with R.W.I.M. Bro. Robert E. Gains in the installation of Bro. Olaf R. Dankert and his office bearers.

R.W.I.M. Bro. Robert E. Gains proceeded with the ceremony by Installing the lodge’s newest R.W.M Bro. Olaf R. Dankert into the chair of King Solomon.

This was done in a very Dignified manner.

R.W.I.M. Bro. Robert McCormick P.M. then Proclaimed R.W.M Bro. Olaf R. Dankert to be the R.W.M. of Lodge Fleur-De-Lys No.1722, thereafter proceeded to install all the office bearers for 2019.

This was carried out in an exemplary manner.

The ceremony was further enhanced by the large deputation of German and other European Brethren who had travelled to see R.W.M Bro. Olaf R. Dankert installed into the chair of King Solomon.

Lodge Deputation.

On Thursday 28th March, RWM Robert McCormick PM headed a deputation to Lodge Robert Burns No.440 to confer an Entered Apprentice degree.

The degree was carried out by Bro,s Jim Ferguson PM Sec, Neil Cameron PM Tres and Craig Gibson IPM in an exemplary manner.

After the meeting the brethren from the lodge were treated to some excellent harmony.

Lodge Deputation.

On Thursday 28th March, RWM Robert McCormick PM headed a deputation to Lodge Edinburgh St Andrew No.48 to confer a Master Mason degree.

The degree was carried out by Bro. Jim Ferguson PM Sec, and Bro. Robert Mair in an exemplary manner.

On the evening I.P.M. Bro. Craig Gibson was presented with honorary membership of Lodge Edinburgh St Andrew No.48

After the meeting the brethren from the lodge were treated to some excellent harmony.

On Thursday 14th February, RWM Robert McCormick PM headed a deputation to lodge Blantyre Kilwinning No.557 to confer an Entered Apprentice degree.

The degree was carried out by Bro,s Jim Ferguson PM Sec, Robert Smith PM and Craig Gibson IPM in an exemplary manner.

After the meeting the brethren from the lodge were treated to some excellent harmony.

RWM Robert McCormick P.M. headed a Large deputation to Lodge Caldercruix St John No.1314.

Lodge Airdrie St. John No.166 were invited along to confer an F.C Degree.

The Degree was conferred by Bro.James Ferguson P.M., Bro Robert McCue WSW, and Bro. Robert Mair M.M. assisted by Lodge office bearers.

The Degree was conferred to a very High standard.

Bro. C.H. Ringrose P.M. proposed a vote of thanks to the Degree team, Bro. James Ferguson P.M. suitably replied.

Lodge 166 Deputation.

R.W.M. Bro. Robert McCormick PM headed a Large deputation of Brethren to Lodge St Clair No.427.

Lodge 166 were invited along to confer the M.M. Degree.

A warm welcome was received from R.W.M. Bro. Stewart Morrison and the brethren of Lodge 427.

The M.M degree was conferred by Bro. James Ferguson PM, Bro. Robert Mair M.M. assisted by the Lodge office bearers of the lodge, all their duties were performed to a very high standard.

At the conclusion of all their labours, R.W.M. Bro. Stewart Morrison requested R.W.M. Bro. Robert McCormick P.M. to accept Honorary Membership of Lodge No.427. this was duly accepted.

R.W.M Bro. Robert McCormick P.M. thanked the R.W.M. and Brethren of Lodge 427 for this Honour.

At the conclusion All the Brethren were invited to stay for some lodge hospitality.

Regular Meeting.

R.W.M. Bro. Robert McCormick P.M. welcomed all Brethren into the Lodge this evening.

Following the business, R.W.M. Bro. McCormick proceeded to install the remaining 2019 office bearers, this was carried out to the usual high standard from R.W.M. Bro. McCormick.

The Lodge continued to carry out a memorial service for all the members of the Lodge that has sadly passed away over the past year.

As customary, both 2018 Installing Masters Bro. Robert McCormick P.M. and Bro. James O. Ferguson P.M. conferred a exemplification of the E.A. Degree. The Degree was carried out in a most competent manner and to the satisfaction of the assembled Brethren.

R.W.M. Bro. Martin Smith propose a vote of thanks to the Degree Team.

At the close of the meeting, the Brethren retired to enjoy some lodge refreshments.

Lodge 166 Deputation.

On Tuesday the 15th of January 2019, R.W.M. Bro. Robert McCormick PM headed a deputation to Lodge Old Monkland St. James No.177 to confer the F.C degree.

A warm welcome was received from RWM Bro.Ian Grant and the brethren of Lodge 177.

The degree was carried out by Bro.’s Jim Ferguson PM, Bro. Bobby McCue W.S.W. and Bro. Robert Mair M.M.

The Degree was to an exemplary manner which we have come to expect for these degree workers.

100 Years Birthday Celebration.

On Friday the R.W.M. Bro. Robert McCormick accompanied by WJW Bro. Robert Grant and Bro. John Porter visited Bro. John Drummond MM of the Lodge who was celebrating his 100th Birthday.

R.W.M. Bro. Robert McCormick was delighted to handover a birthday card signed from himself and the lodge office bearers along with some lodge mementoes.

Bro. Drummond was delighted with the visit from the Lodge and spoke very fondly of his membership and was still able to give a vivid recount of the many years as a member.

At 100 years old, although physically frail, he is very much alert and equally sharp.

Annual Installation Ceremony.

On above evening retiring R.W.M. Bro Craig Gibson welcomed a Large deputation from P.G.L. of Lanarkshire Middle Ward, headed by R.W.D.P.G.M. Bro. Andrew D. Millar.

The deputation was enhanced by the sound of the pipes by Bro. David Stark H.M.166. Thereafter our Bro. John Lang P.M. D.O.C.Presented this evenings Installing Master Bro. James O Ferguson P.M.

R.W.I.M. Bro James O Ferguson P.M. took control of the Lodge and immediately, on behalf of the lodge, Thanked Bro. Craig Gibson for his Sterling work over the past year.

R.W.I.M. Bro. James O Ferguson proceeded with the ceremony by Installing our Newest R.W.M Bro. Robert McCormick P.M.into the chair of King Solomon. this was done in an very Impressive and Dignified manner.

The newly Installed R.W.M. Bro. Robert McCormick P.M. then proceeded to install all the remaining office bearers for 2019. This was carried out in an exemplary manner.

R.W.M. Bro. Robert McCormick P.M. had the privilege of asking both Brethen Bro. David Truesdale P.M. & Bro. Alan Cowan both Brethren of The operative Lodge of Airdrie No203, to accept Honorary Membership of Lodge Airdrie St John No166.

Both Brethren were delighted and privileged to accept this Honour.

R.W.M. Bro. Robert McCormick P.M. then continued to confer this honour on both Brethren.

Both Brethren replied after receiving their Honour. Bro. Alan Cowan informed the assembled brethren that his late Father was a Member of Lodge 166, also Bro. David Truesdale P.M. also spoke about his family connection with Lodge 166.

Celebrations had taken place within the Social Club of Lodge 166.

A Grand total of £1918 was raised for Poppy Scotland and a further £1100 was also raised for Erskine Hospital.

Poppy Scotland Pledge Celebrations.

On Friday the 9th November 2018 the Poppy Scotland Pledge

Celebrations took place within the Social Club of Lodge 166.

The Brethren, families and friends made a massive effort in dressing-up period dress to commemorate such an important historical event.

A Grand total of £1918 was raised for Poppy Scotland and a further £1000 was also raised for Erskine Hospital.

A Big "Thank-you", to all the Brethren that made this event a success. Well Done All.

Lodge Deputation.

On Monday 10th September 2018 both Lodge Airdrie St. John 166 and New Monkland Montrose No.88 created their own joint history when for the first time, since the Temple was occupied in 1979, Lodge 166, the owners of the property, had conferred a degree in their own Temple while another Lodge took the chair.

Lodge 88 were holding their first official Regular meeting in the Temple and they had invited Lodge 166 to confer the degree.

At the meeting the RWM Bro. Craig Gibson received Honorary Membership of Lodge 88, which he received with grateful thanks.

At the conclusion of the meeting both RWM's, with the Trustees of each Lodge and the respective Treasurers onlooking, signed off the new tenancy agreement while the attending brethren, from both Lodges took posed for a photograph to mark the occasion.

Lodge Coltswood No.1067 were invited along to confer an E.A. Degree.

The Degree was duly excutated to the usual High Standard thats expected of Lodge 1067.

Lodge 166 Deputation.

On Above evening Lodge 166 "Were on the Road Again" with a Deputation to Lodge St Clair No.427.

Their mission was to confer The Master Mason Degree on Two Fellow Crafts.

The Degree was confered by Bro. Robert Mair M.M. assisted by Bro. James O Ferguson P.M.

Both Brethern Gave a Marvellous and Exciting rendition of the Degree.

An Experience never to be forgotten especially for both Fellow Crafts and the Asembled Brethren.

R.W.M Bro. Alan Love gave a vote of thanks for this evening work which was appreaiciated by the assembled brethren.

At the conclusion the Brethren were invited to lodge 427 harmony.

On above date Lodge 166 made their first Sojourn to Lodge St George Helensburgh No.503. R.W.M. Bro Craig Gibson headed a very Large Deputation to Lodge St George.

The M.M. Degree was the evenings labours, which was carried out by Bro. James O Ferguson P.M. assisted by Bro. Robert Mair M.M.

The Assembled Brethren were Astonished by the performnce of this Double Act.

R.W.M. Bro. Mark Stewart gave a vote of thanks to the Duo and floor office Bearers. Bro. James Ferguson Replied.

A singing contest prevailed at Lodge Harmony with a verson of 12s/6d (12 and a tanner) resulted in favour of Lodge 166.

Regular Meeting.

Following the Regular meeting of the Lodge on 7th March the RWM Bro. Craig Gibson and the PDPGM Bro. James Shanks joined the brethren of the Lodge in Harmony and thereafter presented the 2018 Charity Cheques to the following recipients: - Guide Dogs Scotland, St Andrews Hospice, Lanarkshire Cancer Care, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, MND Scotland, MacMillan Cancer Support, Parkinson’s Self-help Group, Meningitis Research and Maggie’s Lanarkshire who each received cheques for £300-(A total of £2,700).

Each representative gave an update on the work of their own organisation and in turn thanked the Lodge for their generous donations. It was also noted that since the presentation had been introduced in the year 2000 the Lodge had presented in excess of £40,000 in funds to non Masonic Charities.

The RWM Bro. Craig Gibson thanked the representatives for their attendance and their ongoing work in their own field'.
